Monthly Clinic Update – March 2015   - Busselton Vet Hospital

Hi everyone. Firstly I must confess, yes it has been a few months since I have sat down to give you all an update. Rest assured if anything ultra exciting had happened then I would have been in touch. I'm sure everyone was flat out over Christmas and probably didn't even notice right?

Staff Update

There has been a few changes in the past six months in regards to our team, we have gained a few and sadly said goodbye to a few (Casey, Emily & Nadia). In the picture above you may be able to spot the new faces. We have welcomed Simone, Annette, Louise (Qualified Vet Nurses) and Celeste (our new vet) into our family. I haven't yet organised to get the new crews staff profiles on to our website but will let you know when I do. You will also spot the ol regulars still in there, and before you say it. I'm sorry Frankie is not in the picture, when I put this pic on our Facebook page everyone got very upset that our Frankstar hadn't made an appearance. I won't let it happen again.

Nutrition Month

There is always something happening here at the clinic when it comes to promotions. I don't want this newsletter to become all about us try to sell stuff to you but it is important to let you know what offers we have. So this month is Nutrition month. If you want to know anything about Nutrition for your pet then you can always ask us anytime not just this month. Just to let you know though that this month when you come in for a consultation or purchase a bag of Advance Food you can fill out a form to win a bag of Advance food (value $80). We are also giving away FREE SAMPLES of Advance Food to people who would like to try it, just ask the lovely ladies at reception.

Faulty Microchips

Some of you may already be aware or have received a letter from Virbac regarding a batch of faulty backhome microchips. The issue was first brought to our attention 18 months ago and since then we have replaced (at no cost to the owner) about 50 faulty chips with new ones and registered the new details on the Australia wide database. It has been brought to my attention that not everyone whose pets have faulty chips received a letter from Virbac. We are asking that you check your pets records to see if their chip number is within this range (
Faulty Microchips will more than likely have the pre fix - 90008800 and prefix 900008800 up to 900008800259208.).If you want to check your chip please bring him or her and we will scan him/her for you.

Million Paws Walk 2015

Just a quick save the date for this years RSPCA Million Paws Walk - the event will be at Barnard Park and held on the 17th May. The team at Busselton Vet will again be organising and running the event with all proceeds going to the RSPCA. If you would like to get more information follow the link to the event on our Facebook page or if you wish to register then you can do it online at the RSPCA Website

Wrapping it up

That's it for now, thanks to those of you that have read all the way to this part of the newsletter. I will get you another update when we have more to report. Hope you and your pets stay safe.
Take care
Cheers Kylie
