Pet Ultrasounds

As part of our desire and commitment to offering our patients the highest level of veterinary care, Busselton Vet obtained a high-level ultrasound machine at the start of 2021. We are now pleased to offer ultrasonography as part of the medical and emergency treatment of your pets.

Ultrasound gives us a ‘window’ into your pet’s chest and tummy, in a fast and non-invasive way. This benefits your pet by enabling us to more quickly and accurately diagnose disease in these areas, in most cases without the need to refer them to Perth. Since we have introduced ultrasound, we have been able to make diagnoses in the area of the bladder, kidneys, adrenal glands, intestines, spleen, liver, gall bladder, lungs, pregnancy scans, heart, and chest cavity, plus gain further info about the disease in the musculoskeletal system and under the skin. Ultrasound has helped us to find out more quickly what is going on with your pets, allowing us to make fast and guided treatment plans to ensure your patients aren’t having to wait with the un-detected diseases.

One of our vets is also part-way through further post-graduate studies in abdominal ultrasound, and we are excited to be able to offer you even more ultrasound services in the future.
