Get to Know Our Nursing Team
Our nursing team is made up of a dedicated group of compassionate people and they are all AWESOME!!!! They love looking after your precious pets when they are in our care and strive to continually update their education and skills to be able to offer your pets the best of care. They are hard-working and committed to their profession.
They offer a range of FREE nurse consultations to your pets such as Dental Checks & Plan, Weight Loss Consultations, and Nail Trims. They prepare your pets for surgery as well as monitor them during surgeries and assist in recovery from procedures, they are also on hand to help during those emergency times offering vital assistance to our veterinarians in these stressful times. Our current team consists of a combination of qualified staff and nurses in training.

Where do you originate?
I was actually born in Bunbury so many years ago that the hospital is no longer there! However, from the age of 3, I grew up in the northern suburbs of Perth. One set of grandparents lived in Bunbury and the others lived in Dunsborough, so most school holidays saw my brothers, sisters and I heading south to spend time in the SW.

What do you like about being part of the Busso Vet family?
My most enjoyable time in my job is seeing the result of hard work really pay off. For instance, I once treated a little dog who had been hit by a milk tanker. She had broken both her femurs and both sides of the pelvis; to be honest, she was a basket case! We were able to fix both the femurs surgically and then she was really a basket case, carried around in a basket for several months by her caring owner. She healed so well that she ended up back at training and agility classes and visiting people in hospital! And she is still going 15 years later! Still get such a thrill when I see her around town!

I’m so fortunate to have most of my immediate family back up in Perth. I have two older sisters and 6 nieces and nephews who I adore. There’s certainly never a dull (or quiet!) moment when we all get together but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
What do you like about being part of the Busso Vet family?
What’s not to like! Everyone has been so incredibly welcoming from the moment I started and I truly feel like a valued member of the team. There is a real sense of family within the group – you aren’t just a number; everyone genuinely cares for your well-being both in and out of work. I also love how everyone makes you feel empowered and supported for being curious. No question is a silly one, and there is always someone there to help or ask advice from if needed.

I grew up with my doggy mum and 5 brothers and sisters. When I was 6wks old I moved to the farm to live with my human mum and my very big sister Kate the horse plus all my chicken friends. I’m very lucky because I have a dam to swim in, kangaroos to watch, and plenty of room to run and play with all my toys. The best thing is I get to go to work with mum at the vet every day!!!
I like being part of the Busso Vet family because all my work aunties spoil me rotten, I get loads of pats and everyone fusses over me when I get to work in the morning. It makes me so happy that my tail wags so far that it reaches my ears and I end up tip-toeing with my back feet. The other cool thing about work days is that I get to hang out with my best friend Pippin all day. We take turns playing with the toys and try our best to sneak out the front to pinch lollies from the display, we often get caught
It’s a long day being at work but really enjoy breaking up my day by going out to meet a new puppy that has come to visit us. I also enjoy spending time in reception playing with any kids that visit us and getting pats from the adults.
I’m supposed to tell you something special about me like I can do a cool trick like riding a bike but I don’t really do tricks so I guess I will go with my ability to protect my chicken family by keeping the foxes away from them at night.

Woof! My name is Pippin! I was born and bred in a fantastic little place a long way away called Tasmania Labradoodles. Some of my new family came over to Tasmania to fetch me and I have been home in Busselton since October 2016.
I live with the boss Richard, and the lovelier by far Mum (Caroline), as well as my human sister Shannon. I have a brother Hobbes the cat. We get on great; always playing chasey inside! AND we just welcomed a new little sister to our family. Djida is a blast and although she pull on my ears all the time she is good to have around and helps me keep Hobbes in line.
The best part of being in the Busselton vet family is all the liver treats I get to clean up at the end of the day, first thing in the morning, lunchtime…..all the time really! Oh, and I also get to meet a lot of old friends and make new friends while I’m here.
I enjoy the liver treats most about my job!
I am really special because I am so friendly and cuddly and can run rings around everyone at training classes (when I slip my lead!)
